Our Work

Since 2013, FootballPlus has been transforming young lives by focusing on the key pillars of Football, Foundation, and Future. We go beyond coaching the game—we mentor players through a value-based curriculum designed to build character and purpose in their lives.

For over a decade, FootballPlus has empowered countless young players to dream big and achieve their fullest potential. This journey continues as we aim to inspire the next generation of young people to live their lives with purpose.

Player Performance Matrix

The Player Performance Matrix is our way of measuring impact amongst players in the Champions programme. It measures Football Skills, Academic progress as well as Values learning.

We partner Borussia Dortmund (BVB) and adopted their technomotorical test to measure the players' performance against the German academy's database of standards. The test include stations assessing passing, speed, agility, dribbling and ball juggling

School, training and study time attendances plus report cards of the players are used to monitor academic progress of each 'Champion' so as to better support them in their learning journeys.

A 39-items ACT SG tool provide us with an understanding of the impact we are having through our values-based football curriculum.

STAY In The Game

'STAY In The Game' is a reference to the programme's aim of helping young people to remain resilient in life to handle the different challenge that they face. The main objectives of STAY In The Game are to raise awareness of mental health issues and encourage mental wellness amongst youth through football.

The word 'STAY' is an acronym that represents:

1. Surround yourself with Friends
2. Talk to Someone
3. Aim for Goals
4. You can Do It!

"Mental health issues among young people have soared – the World Health Organisation estimates that one in seven 10- to 19-year-olds experiences a mental disorder, accounting for 15 per cent of the global burden of disease in this age group, while suicide remains one of the leading causes of death among those aged 15 to 24."

Haziq's Dreams for the Future

Haziq is 11 and has been involved in the "Champions" programme since 2023.

He dreams of being an inventor one day, or becoming a comic book artist.

“I have improved in many aspects — football-wise my shooting has become stronger and my technique has gotten better. Besides that, the study sessions have helped me to perform better in exams. The training sessions and coaches have developed my self-control and conduct as well.”

Klayton's Journey

If you asked Klayton six months ago who his favourite player was, without hesistation he would have shouted "Messi!". But now Klayton's favourite player is Gianluigi Buffon because he is playing as a goalkeeper.

Klayton started training with FootballPlus in 2023 and is one of the most regular players in the academy. He was one of the 12 players selected for the training trip in Dortmund, Germany.

Anthony: Investing in the Next Generation

Anthony’s journey with FootballPlus began with an internship that led to him discovering his passion for young people. At 19, he started as an assistant coach while being mentored by more experienced coaches in FootballPlus.

Two years later in 2024, he is coaching the U12 team, fully committed to their development as a staff in FootballPlus.

“I started out with FootballPlus because of my interests in both football and working with youth. Seeing the growth that the children and youth here go through turned my interests into a firm belief that FootballPlus is vital for their development.”
